About Daniel Armon

Daniel discovered his passion for food at a young age, first learning to cook from his Mother and deciding in his early teenage years to pursue a career as a chef. He completed his apprenticeship working at Gastro pubs across Adelaide and studying at Regency Training College.

Daniel's first qualified position was at The Playford Hotel and from there he headed Bartons restaurant at The Caledonian Hotel. In the subsequent years Daniel moved to the Fleurieu Peninsula, and worked at Woodstock Wine Estate before accepting the position of Head Chef at Encounter Restaurant, Hotel Victor.

In 2018 Daniel became Executive Chef of Serafino Restaurant in the heart of McLaren Vale, where he uses the best seasonal produce to create a modern Australian menu with French and Italian influences.

"For me, cooking is like an art, it's a form of expression," says Daniel. "The restaurant team at Serafino really take pride in creating a superb dining experience for every guest, and I'm excited to be part of such a passionate, dedicated team."

Under Daniel's guidance, Serafino Restaurant has just received 2 Chef Hats in the Australian Good Food Guide 2020. Set in a stunning location with fine hospitality and a contemporary menu, Serafino Restaurant offers a superb dining experience. Daniel's dishes let the ingredients do the talking, with the fresh flavours shining through. Daniel is also passionate about minimising waste, using as much of the ingredients as possible through innovative applications.

With views out over the beautifully manicured grounds of the winery, the restaurant serves an a la cart or degustation menu for lunch and dinner, with the option to pair each course with one of Serafino's award-winning wines.
