About Nathan Scarfo

Nathan undertook his apprenticeship at Il Bacaro, a modern Italian restaurant and bar in the heart of the Melbourne CBD. He then honed his skills with stints at SOS and Italy 1, before accepting the role Chef de Partie at Sarti. Working under renowned Calabrian chef Riccardo Momesso, Nathan soon achieved the role of Sous Chef, and spent the following two years developing his own Calabrian style. At the age of 22 Nathan accepted the role of Head Chef at Bar Napoli, before commencing his current position with Tutto Bene.

The Italian translation of “everything’s good”, Tutto Bene is a Southgate institution which has recently undergone extensive renovations. The introduction of an alfresco casual dining area known as the Tutto Bene Terrace captures city and river side views and has increased the venue’s total capacity to a sizeable 150 patrons. The restaurant also features an award-winning Gelateria serving homemade artisan gelati.

At Tutto Bene Nathan has found the challenge he was looking for, introducing a modern touch on the classic risotto with his seasonally driven menu. In addition to being 'Melbourne's only risotteria', the restaurant has carved out a niche of artisan products including their branded and award-winning olive oil and a selection of biodynamic and organic wines.
