Samphire is an edible succulents that grow in coastal areas of Australia. Their slim, noded stems have a slight resemblance to asparagus, but they deliver a salty, spicy taste.

Uses

Blanch or boil lightly then toss with butter or oil and vinegar as an exciting side dish. Samphire also adds unique flavour to seafood dishes. It can be sautéed, stir-fried, steamed, pickled or added to a Caesar salad. Samphire is a unique garnish for a wide range of meals.

Appearance

Bright green, slim, nodded stems about 6-8 cm in length.

Storage

To maintain freshness, store Flowerdale Farm Samphire between 1-5 degrees C. Rinse lightly under cold clean water before use.
