Seasonal Product: Heirloom Tomatoes

Flowerdale Farm currently has a fantastic range of Heirloom Tomatoes now available through the Glenora Heritage Produce range. Available in 500g punnets or 2.5kg trays, there will be excellent supply through to April of the following varieties:
Stupice: An heirloom variety from Czechoslovakia. Produces small to medium round red fruits which are very full flavoured.
Green Zebra: Beautiful chartreuse skin with deep lime-green stripes. Flesh is bright green and very rich tasting, with a tangy yet sweet bite. This striking, small, round variety is a favourite tomato of many leading Chefs.
Glenora Green: This flavoursome green variety has been bred by the Glenora team and is available wholesale exclusively through Flowerdale Farm. With an amazing creamy texture, this large, flattened fruit will add a unique aspect to a wide range of dishes.
Glenora Red: A crossing of two rogue red plants in the Glenora Greens crop from last year. It has now been crossed with every tomato variety Glenora grows and is producing a mix of red, yellow, black and green fruits of every shape and size. The larger fruit has amazing texture and sweetness. A truly unique variety!
Goornong Yellow: Another striking variety developed by Glenora and available wholesale exclusively through Flowerdale Farm. Originated from a rogue plant in among the Green Zebra crop and has been bred to produce large, yellow, round fruit. Fresh citrus-like flavour and great texture.
Black from Tula: A dramatic Russian heirloom variety from the early 1900s. Producing large, slightly flattened, burgundy coloured fruit. Exquisite texture and an incredibly sweet, intense flavour with smoky characteristics. This variety only has a short season, so be quick!
Japanese Trifele Black: Attractive medium sized tomatoes which are the shape of a pear. Beautiful red-brick black / brown colour. Robust texture with good sweetness and rich flavour. A unique Japanese heirloom with a long season.
Pineapple Tomato: Named for its shape, the Pineapple Tomato is an orange / red bi-colour beefsteak tomato. Its outer ribbing is reminiscent of a pineapple's ribbed exterior. This very large variety is an Heirloom from the USA and has beautiful texture with a tropical fruity flavour.
All Glenora products are picked to order so please ensure orders are received to Flowerdale Farm by 8am each Tuesday or Friday.

The Melbourne Wholesale Market and Sydney Produce Market will both be closed on Friday 26th January for the Australia Day public holiday. Normal trading will resume on Saturday 27th January.

Slender, elegant Petite Leeks put an innovative twist on an old favourite. Serve Petite Leeks whole sautéed in butter for a rich creamy flavour and a striking appearance.
